I always worry about having to travel into the city alongside the bride, having left around the same time as her yet trying to arrive at the same time. I usually ask the driver to take their time, still they can park right outside whilst I have to battle for parking spaces alongside shoppers and city workers.

Katie and Barnaby’s Surprise View Engagement Photo Shoot
As we walked through the heather to get the best view of the setting sun Katie was sharing with us stories of just how regularly cars are broken into whilst parked in Surprise View car park.
I tentatively glanced over my shoulder toward said Surprise View Car Park which was slowly disappearing into the distance, trying not to think about my own car which now felt somewhat vulnerable.
As the car park disappeared over the horizon I decided that the car didn’t really matter; I had my precious cameras strapped safely around my person, there was nothing left behind for them to take anyway.

My Wedding Photography Gear 2017
To be clear up front, I love photography, always have. It was my hobby long before it was my career.
I also love acquiring new gear (many call it GAS or Gear Acquisition Syndrome).
I consider myself very fortunate in that my career necessitates buying new and better things that I used to only dream about owning. This does mean I have to practice a huge amount of restraint when I come across a new lens, camera or accessory which promises to improve either the quality of my photos or my experience whilst taking those photos.
