Hannah and George‘s wedding, like so many others, had been delayed by 12 months as a result of Covid-19 lockdowns.
Fortunately their time came and it was a beautiful day. I know I say that a lot, from my perspective everything was pretty much perfect.
Sheffield Botanical Gardens Wedding Ceremony
Their wedding ceremony at the Sheffield Botanical Gardens was my first, and it was amazing. So different from all the other weddings I have been to, being essentially out in a public park.
If I were to make one little complaint it would be the parking situation, but you can’t really hold that against the place.
Being at the Botanical Gardens provided the bonus of some beautiful locations for a few nice photos of Hannah and George before we made our way to their wedding reception at The Plough Inn in Hathersage.
The Plough Inn Wedding Reception
When I arrived at The Plough Inn I totally missed the wedding entrance and ended up in the main pub car park. I wandered around for a bit, wondering why I couldn’t see any of the guests nor locate the wedding.
Just before panic started to set in I asked a member of staff who send me off in the right direction.
Of course as soon as I saw the teepee I remember that they were of course having their reception out in the field.
I always say the best weather for wedding photos is overcast during the day and then for the clouds to break in the evening to give us a beautiful sunset. This was one of those perfect days where it was perfectly overcast and reasonably cool during the ceremony, and then out came the sun later.
It really was a magnificent day, chilled out yet full of surprises. One I won’t be forgetting.
So now it is my pleasure to share a selection of highlights from the hundreds of photos I took that day.
